My 7 year old son was shot down by his 1st grade teacher

The american public education system in a nutshell tho

My third grade teacher actually had a conversation with my mom that I was reading to well and told her to stop having me read at home

My first grade teacher said that it was problematic that I was reading ahead of the rest of the kids in my grade and asked my parents to stop letting me read Harry Potter.
My fourth grade teacher thought it was wrong for my dad to be teaching me complex math because it fascinated me.
My elementary school music teacher hated the way my piano teacher taught me, and how I was more advanced than many of her students, and so told me, in front of my peers and my mother, that I was not good enough to participate in the state solo festival. She would not give me the form. We had to procure it from the district instead. She also hated how I excelled at reading and playing music for the recorder, and so she refused to give me my “belts” (colored beads to signify our level) and humiliated me in front of the class repeatedly.
My eighth grade algebra teacher used to fail me on take home tests because I didn’t solve problems exactly the way she showed us in class; I used methods that we had learned for other types of problems that also applied to these. She took points off my tests because I didn’t bring a calculator even though I got 100% without it, because I was able to do it by hand. I had to call my father, who is an engineer, down to the school to shout her down and give me back my A in the class.
My 10th grade Spanish teacher yelled at me in front of the class numerous times because she didn’t like the way I took notes; she thought that since I didn’t write every word off the slide, I wasn’t getting it all down. I had to explain to her that people who have taken advanced courses, like AP or IB classes, know that in a fast-paced learning environment you need to take quick shorthand notes that contain the necessary information rather than wasting time writing every word. She almost gave me detention.
My 11th grade English teacher gave me a poor mark on my first short essay because she believed that I was looking up unnecessarily complex words in a thesaurus to try and get better marks. The phrases in question: “laced with expletives” and “bombarded”. She wouldn’t hear any defense from me.
My 11th grade history teacher failed me on an essay about the 1950s because I misread the prompt. Except the prompt wasn’t words; it was a political cartoon. One of the figures was clearly president Eisenhower, but the other I couldn’t place. My teacher would not tell us who it was. I labelled him as the governor of Little Rock Arkansas during the integration period, and wrote an essay about that subject. My teacher said that no, it was Joseph McCarthy, and that there was a small picture of the man in our textbook and therefore I should have recognized him instantly. Half the class, apparently, did not.
The American school system is not here to educate us or to encourage us to learn; it’s here to keep us in line and silent. It’s here to keep us from deviating and being our own people and forming our own ideas. Don’t let it win.

"The American school system is not here to educate us or to encourage us to learn; it’s here to keep us in line and silent. It’s here to keep us from deviating and being our own people and forming our own ideas. Don’t let it win."

Fun story time. I loved to read. So much so, I was reading chapter books in kindergarden. I broke the record for reading points in elementary school. They actually had to start making up prizes for me. No one in the history of the school had ever read so many books in a year. Basically, my class liked me because I won those suckers pizza parties in my spare time.
In second grade, I had a teacher named Ms. Mobley who believed all children should be average. She flat out told my father that all children should make C’s, and should never strive for more than that.
Not only was she insane, she also would routinely spell things wrong for us to copy for our spelling tests. Later, when we spelled those words wrong on the test, she would mark us off. Yes, our own teacher was sabotaging us.
I should have been tested for gifted classes, but I was not. Why? Ms. Mobley didn’t believe in “gifted” children.
This teacher had tenure and could not be fired.
Never forget.

George Orwell couldn’t invent this shitit’s twisted stuff

this is important.

FUCKING!
THIS!
ALL OF THIS!

Ever since I started school I would get humiliated in front of the class for reading. When I was in first grade (it might’ve been kindergarten I can’t remember), my mom taught me how to read and count up to a million. My parents would get called for a parent-teacher conference and were told to stop taking the teachers job into their own hands. Since I’ve been reading for as long as I can remember, I’m able to read faster and at a higher level than my classmates. When I was in 5th grade, I read one of the Harry potter books (I can’t remember which one but it was the one with 700 pages) in 2 days. My teacher took away the book and quizzed me on it because she didn’t believe I actually read it. In seventh grade I got in trouble for reading Edgar Allan Poe’s poems a few years beforehand. He was my favorite poet at the time and my teacher got mad when I recited Annabelle Lee from memory. I got in bullied a lot that year because I broke the reading points system the school had. After all of this I’m criticized by every literacy teacher I come across. When I write essays, I write as though I’m talking to the reader. Of course they didn’t like that. My point here is that my school district is supposedly known for its smart students, music and arts programs, STEM program, and overall obedience in the classroom. We are the model students because we have no choice. If we act out or our grades drop, we’re immediately reprimanded. However, if we’re deemed too smart, we’re put into even more trouble.

Gurrrrl I understand. In my 5th grade class my teacher once pulled me to the side for thinking more advanced than the other student. Yes, I was in one of those “special classes” because I had ADHD. That doesn’t mean I’m stupid. In fact my IQ is higher than average. I’ve gotten in trouble for reading in class, but I do it because school bores me. Shit, the American Public school sytem is almost as bad as “The School” in the Maximum Ride novels, and it wasn’t even a fucking school! The stuff they did was like what Shao Tucker did to Nina! They made animal-human hybrids. In our schools, they are trying to make mindless, obedient robots. I sick of this bullshit!

REally? Tell me more.

Hey everyone, this is really important.

My dad has been out of work for almost a year now, and he was in the hospital a few weeks ago. He’s really depressed right now and the infection that was in his arm a few years ago is flaring up again. Today he didn’t get hired after another recent interview a few days ago. He’s currently in his room crying. He needs all the support and love he can get right now so please, reblog, for my dad’s sake, and for mine.

"Hiatus"

This blog will be going on somewhat of a hiatus. Since school has started I won’t be able to work on the blog as much, and as you know,  I already don’t update much. I will still frequent this site, though, so if you need something, feel free to ask. I do have a question for all of you: Would you mind if I posted non-blog-related art?

Facts About the Crew

With school starting in a few weeks I won’t be able to do as many posts so I decided to let you know a few things about the crew, the story, and the blog.

-Russano’s father is an Infernape named Fiore who explores the land (he wasn’t much for water travel)

-Nina is very afraid of Drapion. The reason why is for another time.

-Iceberg can sing really well but doesn’t sing in front of anyone except for his sister, Snowflake

-Iceberg and Snowflake were originally going to be samurott. However, I was having trouble drawing samurott and I already had enough oshowott-line characters

-Russano likes Lego:Ninjago

-Nina was very sickly when she was young

-Solomon’s original name was Blade

-Fragorl is asexual while Scar is pan

-Scar is shiny

-Nina hates when others look down upon her because she is female (most of them have not lived to tell the tale)

-My Minecraft name is Nina_the_Lucario

-Scar is blind in his left eye

-Anything related to gen 6 is not related to this blog

Going through some tough times.

Hey everyone. Sorry for almost no activity. I’ve been visiting family. However right now my dad is in the hospital because his knee is infected. If you all could please keep him in your thoughts, I would be very grateful. And if you are religious I please ask that you pray for his health.

Thank you.

Thanks for 100+!

Here is the completed black & white version.

I just want to thank all of you for choosing to follow me, even though my updates are few and far between. I hope that you will continue to support me in the future!
